BCH Mediations - Brian House

Dedicated Neutral, Arbitrator, & Mediator

I'm Brian House. Welcome to my website. I am a full-time dedicated neutral. Here you will find my biographical information and how to contact my office to inquire about retaining my services with Brian C. House Meditations.

I mediate nationwide and travel at the parties request. Over the years, I maintained brick and mortar offices in Lexington and London, Kentucky, but the advent of Covid brought tremendous change to the ADR world with Zoom/video platforms providing a much more convenient and cost-effective mode of mediation, making the old offices no longer necessary. I now conduct both Zoom and in-person mediations and remain available to travel to the location of the parties preference should in-person mediation be desired. I live in Richmond, Kentucky, home of Eastern Kentucky University and twenty minutes from downtown Lexington, Kentucky.

Why mediate with me?

BCH Mediations - Brian House

Mediation/arbitration is not a sideline with me nor is it a vehicle to supplement a retirement. I am entirely devoted to my career as a dedicated neutral and do not accept any other type of work. When you schedule a mediation with me you can be assured you have one hundred percent of my attention to assist all parties in resolving the dispute.

I have been practicing law since 1981 and began mediating in 1992. I made the commitment to serve solely as a dedicated neutral in 2003. Prior to 2003 I maintained an active trial practice in state and federal courts all over Kentucky.

As part of my commitment to serving as a dedicated neutral I sought out training from multiple institutions including training at Harvard Law School, National Association of Securities Dealers and United States Arbitration and Mediation.

I was privileged to be in the inaugural class of the Kentucky chapter of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and have an AV rating through Martindale-Hubbell.

I have mediated and arbitrated over 11,000 cases since 1992.

My mediation practice is concentrated in the civil dispute arena. I have mediated many different kinds of disputes including personal injury, wrongful death, professional negligence, toxic tort, mass tort, aviation disaster, contract disputes, intercollegiate coach terminations, mineral, and business dissolution claims.

I have served as a case evaluator to assess the value of a claim prior to it proceeding to mediation before another mediator and have done the same for cases prior to arbitration and trial.

I have served as an arbitrator in many cases both solo and as a panel arbitrator.

I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1978 earning a BA in three years with High Distinction, Phi Beta Kappa and the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1980 graduating in two and one-half years. I graduated from Lexington Theological Seminary in 2009 and was ordained to the ministry in 2012.
